Program 03-22 Arts Friday on Eastside: 110322

Today on the program we point you to the Diversity Arts Australia second Report: The impacts of the pandemic on creatives of colour and First Nations creatives’. Released yesterday the results of the second national survey of around 200 First Nations and CaLD people and organisations in the creative sector reveals that during the COVID-19 pandemic, most are experiencing a loss of work, increased racism, stress, anxiety and depression, and an inability to pay bills, rent and their mortgage.

We navigate our way to Australia’s seventh annual Smartfone Flick Festival Known as SF3. The film festival is host to local, national and international short films all produced using smart phone technologies and is on now at the Palace Chauvel Cinema. We explore the Powerhouse Museum’s current  exhibitions and the upcoming open weekend that is part of the Conservation Management Plan that you can have a say in.

Sydney based artist Gareth Jenkins is a media poet who works across language, text and poetry.  He’s about to launch a solo exhibition at Disorder Gallery in Darlinghurst, Inaccessible Archive continues his fascination with text.

Produced and presented by Angela Stretch

Arts Friday acknowledge the First Nations peoples on whose traditional lands we occupy, and in particular the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation in which we produce the program and broadcast from at Eastside Radio.
