International Women’s Day 2022

A special 90 minute program in celebration of International Women’s Day, 8 March 2021.

On the program, the 23rd Biennale of Sydney opens to feature new work and commissions responding to water ecology and relationships with the natural world. Audiences will experience large-scale immersive installations, site specific projects and living works by international participants. Sydney based artist Clare Milledge, presents a new work that takes inspiration from an old Irish tale of the forming of a river and talks us through the installation.

Beyond Human is a group exhibition of works by Eco-arts collective and the Veneration Tree Society curated by Kassandra Bossell. Bossell’s art practice includes sculpture and installation for visual, community and performing arts. Her artwork focuses on human relationships within nature and we take a walk with her through the Chrissie Cotter Gallery in Camperdown Park.

The annual International Women’s Day Art Prize at TAP Gallery has been running for more than a decade and sponsored by Women on Boards. Lesley Dimmick, Manager of TAP Gallery tells us more.

We celebrate International Women’s Day with contemporary Australian women poets to illustrate their lives and creative expression for a 20 minute showcase. The presentation of poetry will also be presented as a separate podcast.
