Program 11-22 Arts Friday on Eastside Radio: 010722

Melbourne’s flutist and Ensemble Offspring’s 2022 Hatched Associate Artist Eliza Shephard joins us to tell us about her performance at Seymour Nights at the Sound Lounge. Artists Gabrielle Bates and Serge Stanley collaborate with the mixed voice choir, Voices From The Vacant Lot, to ask the question, ‘does a building have a voice?‘, in a new performative collaboration, Building Song. Rae White is a non-binary transgender writer, author, educator, zinemaker and recipient on a number of literary awards. Exactly As I Am (UQP) is their latest collection of poetry and is released in July. Hear a selection of poems and the authors perspectives. Mel O’Callaghan’s exploration of the relationship between life and non-life continues with a major exhibition All is Life, on at Carriageworks. It features a new performance installation and sound work, First sound, that plays the ‘pulse of the earth,’ which is a recording of vibrations taken from the earth’s core.

Produced and presented by Angela Stretch.

Arts Friday acknowledge the custodians of the Gadigal lands from which the program has been produced and broadcasts from at Eastside Radio.
