Program 57-Arts Friday International Women’s Day on Eastside

The United Nations International Women’s Day 2024 theme is invest in women: accelerate progress. We hear from a range of artists on there shared thoughts in acknowledgement of theis special women on-air at Eastside. The Biennale of Sydney’s 50th anniversary year features 87 artists and collectives from 47 countries. The Artistic Directors Cosmin Costinas and Inti Guerrero’s 24th reiteration, Ten Thousand Suns, proposes celebration as both a method and a source of joy inspired by the legacies of collective resistance and coming together to thrive in the face of injustice. Following the media preview, you will hear from six exhibiting women artists exibiting across four venues: Pacific Sisters (AGNSW), Sana Shahmuradova Tanska (Artspace), Citra Sasmita and Mangala Bai Maravi (Chak Chak Museum), and Hayv Kahranman (MCA).
